* Mark 14 *
Verse 3
*
And while He was in Bethany
at the home of Simon the leper,
as he sat at meat,
there came a woman with an alabaster box
of costly perfume,
and she broke the box
and poured it on His head.

Grace be unto you from me, my beloved Christian brothers & sisters. Let us be ever so thankful to God for allowing us to join in fellowship in sharing His word once again. Forgetting not to take out some time in your daily schedule to give Him some praise for all he has done for you. Keep God first in all that you do and/or faced with in the upcoming week. A preacher & his 2 daughters were visiting Washington, planning to see the oval office. A security guard for the president came to greet them & they proceeded onward, as they arrived at a checkpoint, another guard asked their accompanying guard, "are they with you"?, he acknowledged, & they kept moving on, they came upon another station, & the same was asked of that guard, their guard acknowledged,
"they are with me", finally arriving at the oval office, standing in amazement & wonder of the place where the President of the United States conducts his business. I can see Jesus waiting to greet us on the other side & as we walk with Him, we come upon an angel & Jesus says "he is with me," just trusting Him as we continue to walk with Him, we come upon another angel & Jesus exclaims once again, "he is with me," finally arriving at the place of such glory & beauty, full of wonderful majesty. We are face to face with God almighty, the creator eternal & our heavenly father, but I hear some of you saying,
O Jesus, I am not worthy.
Our Heavenly Father, with a voice of compassion, states
"I can find no fault in him"
&
"another child of mine has come home."
For this brings me to my topic this week:
(Your Box Must Be Broken)
~Thank You Lord~
******************************************************
Dear friends, we see in this chapter of Mark, during the week before Jesus was crucified, there were those like the priests & scribes, who were looking for an excuse to arrest & kill Him. Judas was looking for a way to betray Him, but a woman named Mary comes to offer a sacrifice & anoint Jesus with costly perfume. You see my Christian brothers & sisters, in order for us to pour out our anointing or perfume, our box has to be broken. I pray that it is never true of us as Christians, that we fail to reach out to the lost in compassion & love, bringing them gently to Christ. Jesus saw the multitudes & was moved with compassion, because they were weary, scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
(Matthew 9:36)
We must as Christians be willing to help others & show a genuine love towards those who are hurting & are in trouble. Just a kind word of encouragement can make all the difference in someone's life. As I have shared with you in another lesson, in your daily walk, you might be the only person,
someone will see living a Christlike lifestyle. God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit & power & He went about doing good.
(Acts 10:38)
Can People Smell Your Perfume?
As this woman showed her love for Jesus, there were some, saying that is expensive perfume, why must it be wasted that way. Do you know people like that friends? No matter what you do for someone, they always have something negative to say about the good you do for someone. The bible says that God so loved us, we ought to love one another.
(I Epistle John 4:11)
Am I Right About It
Jesus said unto them "let her alone, why do you bother her? She has done a good deed to me." In our accomplishments, education, & even wealth, we tend to become stagnant in helping others & showing love towards each other. It is said that some people seem to have a passion for righteousness that they have no room left for love & concern for those who have failed. A selfish attitude does not please God. The Lord always wants us to be humble before Him and not to esteem ourselves better than others. Every truly great person is humble unto our heavenly father.
(Psalm 23:5)
David speaks as a shepherd & we are to care about our brothers & sisters as the Lord is our shepherd,
he watches over us & takes care of us.
In
(Proverbs 11:25)
Solomon makes mention that the soul which is generous, shall be made fat, not in terms of obesity, but with a thickness of presence. He shall be blessed as he is a blessing. Seek God & ask Him, how can I be a blessing to someone today & everyday. In order for God to expose the sweet perfume that is in us, we often have to be broken, in our trials, setbacks, defeats, are sometimes ways to get us in the position where we release our anointing & others are blessed by God through us. Jesus Christ loved us & through His Great Compassion for us,
we can lay hold to eternal life.
Just to be tender, just to be true,
Just to be glad the whole day through,
Just to be merciful, just to be mild,
Just to be trustful as a child:
Just to be gentle and kind and sweet,
Just to be helpful with willing feet,
Just to let love be our daily key,
This is God's will for you and me.
