* II Kings *

Verse 6

*

But as one was felling a beam,
the axe head fell into the water:
and he cried, and said,
Alas,master!
for it was borrowed.

Grace be unto you from me, my beloved Christian brothers & sisters. Let us be ever so thankful to God for allowing us to join in fellowship in sharing His word once again. Forgetting not to take out some time in your daily schedule to give Him some praise for all he has done for you. Keep God first in all that you do and/or faced with in the upcoming week. Friends, have you ever felt like you have lost your zeal for God, or something you know was not pleasing to Him, you proceeded to do & now you are struggling with the desire to continue your walk? The passion you once had has seemed to have faded away.
Serving God has become a routine?
Let me point out several ways to help you recover your zeal.

For this brings me to my topic this week:
(Get Your Axe Head Back)
******************************************************
We see in this chapter, Elisha, the successor of Elijah, he & some men were cutting timber & the axe head of one man fell into the water. It would be futile for him to try to continue cutting the timber with no head. There are ways of making sure your axe head would stay in place, such as driving a wedge between head & axe to assure it's security. Another was to soak it in water to make it swell. This man seems to have not prepared his axe for the job & utterly lost it. Dear friends, often we are like this man, in our lives as we allow certain things to cause us to lose our zeal for God, continuing using just our efforts & not our passions. We did not prepare ourselves for the onslaught & temptations of our adversary. I just want to share some suggestions with you, if you are ever faced with this condition & how you can recover your axe head.

Thank You Lord

1. Admit You Are Not Growing
Do not continue in the same routine of worship or relationship with God, if it has become stagnant. Search yourself & acknowledge to yourself, you need to mature in your service to God. Be more diligent in seeking Him.

2. Go To The Master
Just as the man went to Elisha for help, we can go to Jesus & ask of Him for our hearts desire according to His will. Drink of His water when your are thirsty.

3. Take Responsibility
Be accountable for your actions, you cannot say that someone caused you to stumble, for God has given each of us a sound mind to make correct & positive decisions for ourselves.

4.Where Did You Lose It?
This one really hits the mark, as it will call for a deep inner searching of your heart & a truthful attitude in finding the answer. Was it that someone hurt you & you have not got over that? Could it be a certain sin or sins that have kept you from your fire for God. Remember, it is the little foxes that can steal your joy. Search yourself dear friends, & you will find the place where you lost it.

5. Work On The Cross
Jesus paid the price for us on a piece of timber, we should always rejoice in what He did for us. When you feel that you are missing the mark & are not being meaningful in your walk with Him. Remember The Cross.

6. You Do Your Part & God will Do His
When you draw close to Him, He draws close to you. Live your life as it will be pleasing to Him & he will make sure that an intimate relationship with Him will be evident in your life.

Repent of that which has caused you to lose your passion for God & turn to Him, for He loves you & wants to have a more intimate relationship with YOU.

Give No Place To Satan
(Ephesians 4:27)

May this be a blessing to each of you & pray for one another in the uplifting of spirit & healing. If any of you wish to send a note of sentiment, please do so.
May God always walk with you & you with God.
